Biography
Dr. Stephen Oliver is a program coordinator for the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and has been an adjunct faculty member since 2018. He teaches undergraduate and graduate sociology-related and research courses, and he serves on dissertation committees in the Doctor of Social Science in Prevention Science program. He also has experience facilitating courses in both traditional face-to-face methods and online virtual formats at the University of Virginia Continuing Studies program (SCPS), the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Nursing, and Widener University’s School of Business and School of Nursing.
Dr. Oliver is a Human Resources Management and Leadership Development and Learning Consultant. Living in Philadelphia, PA, his management consultancy HRCVision has led him to work with health care organizations and other industries in the Philadelphia area, New Jersey, Baltimore, Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., Florida, and other regions of the U.S. He has coached and trained industry leaders and staff in the areas of talent management, leadership development, critical thinking, strategic planning, employee engagement, performance management, customer service, emotional intelligence, diversity in the workplace (including generations at work employee training), and organizational development. He has also worked with sensitivity, discrimination, sexual harassment, bullying, and employee safety issues.
Dr. Oliver holds a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in Human Resources Development from Marymount University. He also has a bachelor’s degree in English from West Virginia University. He has continued his education by studying in the Distance Education program at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
